Heading to the mountains to take in Corrosion of Conformity with Clutch and JD Pinkus at The Signal in Chattanooga, TN, a pitstop at Ruby Falls was dire to stretch the legs with some ziplining, then hike unground in a cave to a hidden waterfall, just to make the blood flow a bit before the show.  Pinkus had my curiousity piqued the most, as I had heard him in Butthole Surfers, knew he was talented, but I had never just seen him strumming a banjo on stage before and didn't really know what to expect.  Whatever it was I thought I might have expected got blown out of the water by sounds that made me scratch my head, like I didn't know a banjo sounded that way, until I spotted his setup of distortion pedals, and was he running that thing barefoot to add to that mushroom mountain music sort of appeal for the area?  Actor and musician Bill Moseley was one of the latest recipients of the latest installment of the "Murder House Series," the screenplay called " Black Market Doctor." In celebration of Mumsy's birthday, we are releasing a new music video each day this week.  Many of the songs are from the motion picture "Demons Among Us," but not all of them.  Some are just for fun. "Spark It Up," the second alternative shortened version of the award-winning documentary "Blow It Up" has been released for comparison to the first short version titled "Fire It Up."  The first shortened version of the documentary featured additional footage from the 50th Anniversary of the University of Michigan Hash Bash; whereas, this second version features additional musical clips not featured on the first version.  All three versions of "Blow It Up," "Fire It Up," and "Spark It Up" were named for the involvement of pyrotechnic work, as well as the destruction from Hurricane Ian in SW Florida. With the release of the “Demons Among Us” soundtrack and her latest book “Tragic Love Stories,” author, director and entertainer Marisa L. Williams will host a CD and book release party at the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Studios in Orlando this weekend. In yet another evening of Tampa's metal music at The Orpheum, Cattle Decapitation was featured with 200 Stab Wounds, Blackbraid and Dark Funeral.  With 30 years of Swedish dark metal, fans of Dark Funeral and Blackbraid were easy to spot, donning black and white face makeup.  Meanwhile, people see names like 200 Stab Wounds and Cattle Decapitation with Dark Funeral, thinking it's some sort of animal sacrifice to a dark entity, leaving me to explain that they are bands, not live animal slaughtering. It's always a delight to go up to Tampa for a metal night.  Wanting to show my support for Sacred Reich, as on Ozzfest 2002, Jason and I found some common ground like.  Even though I put in to cover that band, it seemed as if someone else had planned.  It’s not too often that I get excited to see what somebody has been up to, but when I saw El King’s new video, it only makes me wonder what’s on the new album. First of all, her song, Ex’s & Oh’s, was just great, so it’s awesome to see that she’s putting something else out. Slinking around the stage like cats, the BulletBoys brought glitz and glam with a side of sexiness to the Twisted Fork in Port Charlotte, Florida. Though typically warm temperatures were a little chilly, the BulletBoys heated up the Back Porch stage behind the Harley dealership on 776. With tight black leather pants hugging shaking booties in the crowd, awesome food to go around and the best the big hair bands had to offer in the area, it’s sure to be a good time to dance around and let off steam. There once was a werewolf character in my books named Granthrax, and you’ll have to read my books to discover which ones he’s in, but let’s just say he materialized on stage completely unexpectedly on the wolf moon, which, if I were to ever run into him, is as fitting a time as any.
