Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity and Pinkus
Heading to the mountains to take in Corrosion of Conformity with Clutch and JD Pinkus at The Signal in Chattanooga, TN, a pitstop at Ruby Falls was dire to stretch the legs with some ziplining, then hike unground in a cave to a hidden waterfall, just to make the blood flow a bit before the show. Pinkus had my curiousity piqued the most, as I had heard him in Butthole Surfers, knew he was talented, but I had never just seen him strumming a banjo on stage before and didn't really know what to expect. Whatever it was I thought I might have expected got blown out of the water by sounds that made me scratch my head, like I didn't know a banjo sounded that way, until I spotted his setup of distortion pedals, and was he running that thing barefoot to add to that mushroom mountain music sort of appeal for the area?
