When I went up to Orlando House of Blues at Disney Springs, I got a little sampling of what some of the summer music scene has to offer at festivals and more.  Take a peek at my experiences from the show.  It will help you decide which band not to miss.

I just got a taste of a band that I could really sink my teeth into when Welcome to Rockville comes to Daytona Beach in May. These English blokes called malevolence can really throw down. It’s definitely going to be worthwhile to catch them when they play coming up in the spring alongside a ton of other familiar names in metal: Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Puscifer, Suicidal Tendencies, Bullet for My Valentine, Pantera, Godsmack, Alice Cooper, Motionless in White, Asking Alexandria, Tool, Deftones, Incubus, Pennywise, New Years Day, Pop Evil, Suicide Silence and a slew of others that make this a do not miss festival of the season. 

Acabo de probar una banda en la que realmente podría hincarle el diente cuando Welcome to Rockville llegue a Daytona Beach en mayo. Estos tipos ingleses llamados malevolencia realmente pueden tirar abajo. Я щойно скуштував групу, в яку я дійсно міг би втопити зуби, коли Ласкаво просимо до Роквілла на Дейтона-Біч у травні. Ці англійські блоки, звані зловмисністю, дійсно можуть кинутися вниз. Безумовно, варто буде зловити їх, коли вони зіграють навесні разом з тонною інших знайомих імен у металі: Сліпкнот, Роб Зомбі, Пустіфер, Суїцидальні тенденції, Куля для мого Валентина, Пантера, Годсмак, Аліса Купер, Нерухомий у білому, Запитуючи Олександрію, Інструмент, Дефтони, Інкуб, Пеннівайз, Новий рік, Поп-зло, Мовчання самогубців та безліч інших, які роблять це не пропуском фестивалю сезону. 

On this particular tour, Malevolence was playing with the familiar name of P. O. D., as well as Jinjer and Space of Variations from the Ukraine. This was like an international flavoring of metal music, with militia-like gun splatter of hard hitting beats piercing through you as deep as bullets with heavy riffs that were beautifully melodic at the same time, a wonderful juxtaposition that is more than worthy of checking out if you want to hear something different than the radio.

En esta gira en particular, Malevolence estaba tocando con el nombre familiar de P. O. D., así como Jinjer y Space of Variations de Ucrania. Esto fue como un sabor internacional de música metal, con salpicaduras de golpes contundentes que te atraviesan tan profundamente como balas con riffs pesados que eran bellamente melódicos al mismo tiempo, una yuxtaposición maravillosa que es más que digna de ver si quieres escuchar algo diferente a la radio.

Bringing in the melodic metal sound from the Ukraine, it is not surprising that the metal moshers will head back over to the other side of the ocean to rock out a little more.  If you find yourself in Europe and thirsting for some metal sounds, be sure to check out Space of Variations on the Within Destruction tour, featuring Bound in Fear and Earth Caller with Misstiq.  Space of Variations is one band to put on your watch list as a band not to miss.

If you should find yourself willing to roll the dice on the Las Vegas Strip in the spring, then the Sick New World festival is one that is at the top of many people's list, as it currently has a waitlist for more tickets to be released, unless you want to purchase a package deal with a hotel, which actually almost makes it worth it really if you're coming in from out of town.  Though it might have been 20 years since P.O.D. shared the stage with System of a Down and Chevelle at Ozzfest in 2002, they will all share the stage once again at the Sick New World festival.  Joining them is a tremendous lineup the includes the likes of Korn, Incubus, Deftones, Mr. Bungle, Evanesence, Papa Roach, Skinny Puppy, Kitty, Coal Chamber, Sevendust, Monster Magnet, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Ministry, Monster Magnet and more, making it one of the top travel destination festivals of the season, surrounded by all the lights and sounds of the casinos with the clicking of cards as your stroll the sidewalks.

Skyrocketing to the other go-to festival of the season, Jinjer will have people pushing in the moshpit, along with bands like Pantera, Motionless in White, Coal Chamber, Spirit Box, Tech N9ne, Vince Neal, Avatar, Drowning Pool, Taproot, Stabbing Westward, Adema, Nonpoint, Atilla, Upon a Burning Body, Dropout Kings, Born of Osiris and plenty of others.  The 2023 Blue Ridge Rock Festival will jam for four days, September 7 - 10, with camping available if you want to experience the pleasant weather of Virginia while hearing some sweet tunes.  This will be held at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA, and the camping pre-party starts Wednesday, with gates at 5:30 p.m., and did I mention children under 8 are free?
