Thorisaz Goes Country: Thorisaz Va Al País

With everyone else out there going country, I figured I would try it, too. I was very reluctant, to say the least, because I had very bad country forced upon me when my mom used to show horses growing up. For many years, I refused to even listen to country, until Woody, from Corrosion of Conformity sat me down and made me listen to Dwight Yoakam, explaining that every musician should have a wide variety of musical appreciation, regardless, if the style is your style of choice.

Tolstoy was one of the people best known for appreciating people pushing genres and styles. He was best known as a writer, and he said that it’s not about perfecting the art of writing, like the way AI can produce content that is technically correct, it is more about pushing the envelope and trying new things, and more importantly, inspiring others to try new things as well, even if it is outside of the comfort zone. It’s enhancing the art by pushing it to become something new, as opposed to the same old stagnant stuff.

That means that there’s nobody backing me up on this one. There’s no music, just the sound of the waves from the ocean. Call it what you will, but it was relaxing if nothing else, as the water was perfect at Blind Pass yesterday.

When you are driving around Florida in the aftermath of a hurricane, you don’t necessarily expect to see a car show in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The South Gulf Cove homeowners association hosted not only a car show, but set up almost like a swap meet with various vendors, a bake sale, and all kinds of fun for area residents.
