‘ Tis the season for chilling screams and extra thrills at Busch Garden’s Howl-O-Scream in Tampa. This year, they’ve kicked it up a notch with not only a steam punk theme with Rockin’ favorite metal and industrial bands blaring at various places throughout the park, but they combined this with extreme performances where people dangle from the ceiling while dancers don ripped fishnets. Top this with Martian invasions, a twisted take on Alice in Wonderland, and Big Foot lurking in the woods to make for an exquisitely gruesome experience worthy of seeing. If you are an adrenaline junkie like me, then hands-down, my favorite place to go for roller coasters is at Cedar point in Sandusky, Ohio. While some people might think of other places beyond Ohio for vacation destinations, when it comes to roller coasters and haunted houses, you cannot beat Cedar Point’s selection, as they have not only one of the world’s largest collections of roller coasters that are awesome, but they also have multiple haunted houses this time of year. Fall is my favorite time to go to Cedar point, not only because of the Halloweekends, but also because it’s a little cooler than the hot times in the summer, and the crowds thin out a little more to be able to have less wait times to get on some of those favorite rides. Attending Busch Gardens last night, we could see the decorations that were already in place for the kickoff of Howl-O-Scream, their Halloween celebration. The scare zones are in place, the haunted houses are set up, the Midway is ripe for scares and Candy. Howl-O-Scream officially starts Sept. 5 and ends Nov. 1 in 2025, with select nights having the added bonus of Kandy’s Sweetacular Celebration with trick-or-treating. One of my real estate customers recently purchased a home in Florida that she wanted to renovate after it had been damaged by the hurricanes. As with any renovation project, you never know what is lurking below the surfaces that you cannot see.  In this case, we discovered mold that had been hidden underneath flooring that seemed viable at first. When traveling down US 1 to explore the Florida Keys, the sunset is on one side of the highway, while the sunrise is on the other. If you are heading south, and you are looking for that sunset, you will want to look on your right hand side. If you’re around the Key Largo area, one of my favorite sunset spots is the Islamorada Fish Company and World Wide Sportsman, which provides awesome waterfront views, food, water sports and unexpected surprises.
