Behind the Fireworks: Detrás de los fuegos artificiales

Once again, my pyrotechnics crew and I had massive explosions over the water at Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda, FL. This was a barge setup, so we had to get our sea legs and be mindful of staying hydrated. Make sure you have everything you need before you go out to the barge, because going back-and-forth is not an easy task.

Una vez más, mi equipo de pirotecnia y yo tuvimos explosiones masivas sobre el agua en Fisherman's Village en Punta Gorda, Florida. Esta fue una configuración de barcaza, así que tuvimos que conseguir nuestras piernas de mar y tener cuidado de mantenernos hidratados. Asegúrate de tener todo lo que necesitas antes de salir a la barcaza, porque ir y venir no es una tarea fácil.

This video clip takes you behind the scenes to see some of our shenanigans. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and the hurricanes in Florida, the number of shows were down significantly this year, but we still try to make the best of it. Being one of the few shows able to light up the sky after hurricane Ian ravaged through the area, it’s nice knowing that we were able to give people something to ooohhh and aaahhh at to take their mind off of the reality of the lingering hurricane cleanup.

Desafortunadamente, debido a la pandemia y los huracanes en Florida, el número de espectáculos disminuyó significativamente este año, pero todavía tratamos de aprovecharlo al máximo. From the serene setting of the beautiful marina with the palm trees and the pelicans that add to that lovely view, to the bustling shops nearby, the location is ideal. It might have been a little tricky load from the dock, trying not to fall in, feeling the board wobbling underneath, but nobody fell in on this venture at least. After all the excitement of explosions, once most the gawkers were long since drunk, we still had to break down the barge and fight the urge to cool down by jumping in the water that’s still more than a lil stirred up from the excessive hurricane debris.

Desde el entorno sereno del hermoso puerto deportivo con las palmeras y los pelícanos que se suman a esa hermosa vista, hasta las bulliciosas tiendas cercanas, la ubicación es ideal. Podría haber sido una carga un poco complicada desde el muelle, tratando de no caerse, sintiendo el tablero tambaleándose debajo, pero al menos nadie cayó en esta empresa. Después de toda la emoción de las explosiones, una vez que la mayoría de los gawkers estaban borrachos hace mucho tiempo, todavía teníamos que romper la barcaza y luchar contra la necesidad de enfriarse saltando al agua que todavía está más que un poco agitada por los excesivos escombros del huracán.
