There's been a lot of buzz about the Crowbar tour on this leg, and for those who missed it, you can take a peek at what the start and end of the show at the Orpheum in Tampa looked like in September 2023.  As if they arrived on the welcome mat for the Halloween season, being the perfect doom and gloom groove band to usher in that time of the year, Crowbar seemingly orchestrated fall to follow them.  Not only do they set the scene for Halloween, but they command they crowd to join into the funky groove beats. I nkcarceration Festival will be held at the haunted Mansfield State Penitentiary in Ohio, a location that Dr. Domento of “Black Market Doctor” says is the place to party this summer. Having more body art done yesterday, I am always curious to see what the latest body modification trends are doing, making something like a tattoo convention always of interest. Combing hardcore metal music with tattoos is a classic combination, but the haunted location kicks the entire event up a notch. In yet another evening of Tampa's metal music at The Orpheum, Cattle Decapitation was featured with 200 Stab Wounds, Blackbraid and Dark Funeral.  With 30 years of Swedish dark metal, fans of Dark Funeral and Blackbraid were easy to spot, donning black and white face makeup.  Meanwhile, people see names like 200 Stab Wounds and Cattle Decapitation with Dark Funeral, thinking it's some sort of animal sacrifice to a dark entity, leaving me to explain that they are bands, not live animal slaughtering. It's always a delight to go up to Tampa for a metal night.  Wanting to show my support for Sacred Reich, as on Ozzfest 2002, Jason and I found some common ground like.  Even though I put in to cover that band, it seemed as if someone else had planned. Slinking around the stage like cats, the BulletBoys brought glitz and glam with a side of sexiness to the Twisted Fork in Port Charlotte, Florida. Though typically warm temperatures were a little chilly, the BulletBoys heated up the Back Porch stage behind the Harley dealership on 776. With tight black leather pants hugging shaking booties in the crowd, awesome food to go around and the best the big hair bands had to offer in the area, it’s sure to be a good time to dance around and let off steam. There once was a werewolf character in my books named Granthrax, and you’ll have to read my books to discover which ones he’s in, but let’s just say he materialized on stage completely unexpectedly on the wolf moon, which, if I were to ever run into him, is as fitting a time as any.
