Category 7 Hits Harder: La categoría 7 golpea más fuerte
Am I the only one who has been waiting for a supergroup like Category 7 since Anthrax's "Sound of White Noise?" John Bush is back with a vengance, and not like he went anywhere, as he's been touring with Armored Saint and whatnot, but this just reminds me more of that breakout collaboration. He's pushing himself back into that metal with an intense group of recognizable professionals to say the least.

Let's start with the double bass drum that sounds like a machine gun, combined with this melodic metal guitar riff like a pissed off pixie joined the mix, and it's not even close to describing it. I mean, I've been a longtime fan of Overkill, so you got me with Jason Bittner, then throw in Exodus' Jack Gibson, Mike Orlando from Adrenaline Mob, and Phil Demmel of Machine Head, Violence and Kerry King, and you have this winning combination that harkens back to that golden era when metal was first popping. Metal is always so much better when the vocalist can actually sing, and John Bush has always been a favorite of mine for his range, clarity and power, making this one of those where have you been for so long and why didn't you guys think to do this sooner type of things that leaves you wanting and craving more.

Now with their latest video "Exhausted," it might as well be about how I feel after Hurricane Ian, as I'm still in litigation with my insurance company to get my house fixed on year two, and the video starts out in his hellacious rainstorm that simply reminded me of how it was to ride out the hurricane at home. I'm not sure what his original inspiration was for the song, probably not my hurricane experience, but it's one of those relatable tunes where anyone could think of a situation that had their mind racing and the whole thing leaves you exhausted. This is just a shining example of how metal can have hard lyrics that people can understand, contrary to all the haters who claim that metal is just a bunch of screaming with no real content; both John Bush and Overkill have proven that metal can have lyrics with meaning.
Ahora, con su último video "Exhausted", bien podría tratarse de cómo me siento después del huracán Ian, ya que todavía estoy en litigio con mi compañía de seguros para arreglar mi casa en el segundo año, y el video comienza con su tormenta infernal que simplemente me recordó cómo fue capear el huracán en casa.
