There are two resorts in Punta Cana, that bear the Royalton name. The Royalton Splash is a waterpark hotel, and The Royalton Resort and Casino, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, is located on the pristine beach of the Dominican Republic. It’s basically one big resort, where you can enjoy the best of both worlds, with the splash fun towards the back of the property, and the front reserved for those seeking upgrades like swim-up rooms and direct ocean views.

El Royalton Splash es un hotel de parque acuático, y The Royalton Resort and Casino, un resort con todo incluido con Autograph Collection, se encuentra en la prístina playa de la República Dominicana. There’s a trolley that connects everything, so you can just hop on and off wherever you need to go around either of the resorts. The front has room for things like parties on the beach, while the rear has things like an escape room challenge to play with friends. No matter if you want to gamble at the casino, socialize at the sports bar, or swim up to bars, this resort has it all and more.

My favorite was the morning yoga. It’s just enough to get the body moving. David did a great job leading the class under a rainbow.

The sky reflected off the pool is breathtaking. The expansive beach felt safe to stroll, without having to worry of someone trying to sell you something, as we experienced at other resorts. Of all the resorts, this felt more Americanized in their music choices, playing the most familiar music, yet it also brought the local culture in a parade around the resort as a bonus.

La expansiva playa se sentía segura para pasear, sin tener que preocuparse de que alguien intente venderte algo, como experimentamos en otros centros turísticos. The gelato and coffee stand had some of the best sweet stuff. From caramel coffee to dainty, delectable desserts, this was worth the stop. The great thing about all-inclusive means you can try just about anything, so don’t be afraid to indulge yourself.

This was definitely family friendly, as there were even bird families to watch on the eco-walk. There was an awesome variety of critters to see, which was unexpected fun. Sure, there was also that overly anticipated fun to be had at the splash water park.

Water slides are always fun. Get your steps in going up, working off the gelato stop - practically zeroing out calories - and slide on down to the next one. Slipping and sliding straight down one, twisting in the darkness on another, and feeling as if you might launch into the sky on another, there’s plenty of fun to be had without leaving the resort.

The buggies might get a little dusty or muddy, so might not hurt to have a face covering if choosing that adventure.
