GAAD for Catharsis: GAAD para Catarsis
GAAD, Go Ahead And Die, is the latest father-son project from Max and Igor Cavalera. With the state of the economy, and everybody being pissed off about it, there’s nothing like some hard-core music to help vent any frustration that you might be feeling. For me, still in litigation with my insurance company, going on year two after hurricane Ian, still hoping for recovery like ceilings put back in my house, I am in need of really hard-core music to help handle my anger issues, and this fits the bill nicely.
GAAD, Go Ahead And Die, es el último proyecto padre-hijo de Max e Igor Cavalera. Con el estado de la economía, y todo el mundo enfadado por ello, no hay nada como algo de música dura para ayudar a desahogar cualquier frustración que puedas estar sintiendo. Para mí, todavía en litigio con mi compañía de seguros, pasando el segundo año después del huracán Ian, todavía esperando una recuperación como techos vueltos a poner en mi casa, necesito música muy dura para ayudar a manejar mis problemas de ira, y esto encaja muy bien con la factura.
Sometimes, when you find yourself so pissed off that you’re screaming at the top of your lungs, and literally shaking, there’s nothing better than some metal to really channel that energy. Call me old-fashioned, but I still love getting in a mosh pit and knocking the tar out of some people. Not everyone has the means to vent their anger issues, but for me, metal helps more than other things.
A veces, cuando te encuentras tan cabreado que estás gritando a todo pulmón, y literalmente temblando, no hay nada mejor que un poco de metal para canalizar realmente esa energía. Llámame anticuado, pero todavía me encanta meterme en un pozo de mosh y sacar el alquitrán de algunas personas. No todo el mundo tiene los medios para desahogar sus problemas de ira, pero para mí, el metal ayuda más que otras cosas.
I’m not saying that you’re as angry as I am, but if you have anger issues, you might want to check out this show. The beat will have you knocking your head to get your body moving, and then, when it grows more intense, and the bodies starts slamming, you just might happen to throw an elbow, a knee, or Woopsie. When you have a bunch of pissed off people all willing to get their anger out together, there’s just something cathartic about it, at least for me.
No estoy diciendo que estés tan enfadado como yo, pero si tienes problemas de ira, tal vez quieras echar un vistazo a este programa. El ritmo te hará golpear la cabeza para que tu cuerpo se mueva, y luego, cuando se vuelve más intenso, y los cuerpos comiencen a golpear, es posible que lances un codo, una rodilla o Woopsie. You don’t have to be angry to go to the show, you can be in a totally great mood, and still enjoy yourself. I’m just one of those people that likes the physical dancing and bodyslamming with a little bit of blood mixed in to help relieve some angry issues. When you get that energy release, then you can enjoy a deep breath during those melodic moments when they slow the pace down a little bit more, allowing you to catch your breath, until the next crescendo.
No tienes que estar enfadado para ir al espectáculo, puedes estar de muy buen humor y aún así disfrutar. Solo soy una de esas personas a las que les gusta el baile físico y el bodyslamming con un poco de sangre mezclada para ayudar a aliviar algunos problemas de ira. With a name like Go Ahead And Die, I can totally relate to a name like that. It’s one of those things that when people frustrate you, heaping all their drama on you unnecessarily, sometimes you just wanna say that phrase to them, but people usually hold it in. Thing is, it’s really not good to hold things in they say, so let’s all forget the drama and have fun at a metal show instead.
Con un nombre como Go Ahead And Die, puedo relacionarme totalmente con un nombre como ese. Es una de esas cosas que cuando la gente te frustra, cargando todo su drama sobre ti innecesariamente, a veces solo quieres decirles esa frase, pero la gente generalmente la aguanta. La cosa es que realmente no es bueno mantener las cosas en lo que dicen, así que olvidémonos del drama y divirtámonos en un espectáculo de metal en su lugar.
The Unhealthy Mechanism Tour is definitely one to check out, as these cats have been known for busting out some unique instruments and sounds. If the Cavalera family name sounds familiar, it should: Igor was in Healing Magic, while Max has been making heads pound for years in bands like Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy. This hard-hitting father-son combination should not be missed.
El Unhealthy Mechanism Tour es definitivamente uno de los que hay que echar un vistazo, ya que estos gatos han sido conocidos por sacar algunos instrumentos y sonidos únicos. Si el nombre de la familia Cavalera suena familiar, debería: Igor estaba en Healing Magic, mientras que Max ha estado golpeando cabezas durante años en bandas como Soulfly y Cavalera Conspiracy. Cranking it up a notch with Florida metal Bodybox, you can be sure that this is a band that is full of hate from the sunshine state. Not to say that they are angry individuals, per se, but they are very good at providing that heavy sound required to vent your anger issues. Just about anyone who’s coming from Florida is pissed off due to the rising insurance prices, recovery from hurricanes, and that type of drama, so, even though it’s a tourist destination, the sunshine state is known to hold a lot of hate, as I can testify.

Depending which show date you want to attend, you may have the pleasure of one of three other bands. Starting the tour from Jan. 19-28 is Second Shooter. From Feb. 7-22 is Half Heard Voices, Madzilla will rein from March 1-10, and finalizing the tour from March 11-24 is Deep Within.

Focused on the madness of society and the pollution ravishing people’s minds these days, there’s plenty for the Cavaleras to be pissed off about in Unhealthy Mechanisms. Check out their video to see how this compares to their previous work. You just might be inspired to stand up, jump around and start a mosh pit in your own living room.

Be sure to check out the tour. Vent your frustration, and let metal calm you with some physical moshing. If you’re not sweaty and out of breath by the end of the show, you’re doing metal wrong; put your phone down and mosh out your anger.
