By now, you have surely heard of movies like “Chucky” and “Annabelle,” but are you ready to meet the original haunted doll who’s older than both of them and very likely could have inspired either or both of them? Robert the Doll has such a bad reputation for bad things happening around him, he’s now kept as the star prisoner in Fort East Martello in Key West. Nothing like getting a bunch of ghosts from haunted objects to live in the same place and offer ghost tours, which is exactly what David Sloan decided to do.

The infamous ghost author has a number of books in his collection, which can be found in various places around the island, including in the gift shop at the Fort, and he has been leading ghost tours in Key West for a number of years. If you are lucky enough to hear some of his stories of his own personal experiences while giving ghost tours, it’s enough to make the hairs stand up on your body. Having heard a few of these stories myself, I wanted to simply experience it for myself, which is why I had to go to the Fort.
